Happy New Year!

Friends, it's a new year. 2014. And I have a crazy dream I'd like to make. That dream is to have all of my interior projects done this year.

Say WHAAA???

It's crazy, I know. There's so much to be done! And there's so little cash on hand. But when I take stock of what needs to be done, I think it may just be attainable.
Let's inventory our projects, shall we?

1. New kitchen. I'm talking total gut job. We'd probably need to bring in professionals. No, we'd have to bring in professionals. So maybe we put this one off until the end of the year.

2. Upstairs bathroom reno. We've already started on this one. We have a new toilet and a new vanity, and the new floor arrives on Monday. All we need is a new tub/shower combo, some new hardware, and some new paint. Potentially pricey, but totally doable.

3. Guest suite. We've started on this one too. And we've run into some weird issues. But once we replaster the ceiling, it just needs a new floor, some paint and furniture and we're good to go. To the bathroom. Which needs to be gutted. Summer project!

4. Staircase. Right now our staircase is nothing but a vessel to transport us from top to bottom. The top rails need to be refinished. And the staircase is covered in really nasty red carpet. And the handrail is detaching from the wall. So that's all gotta be fixed. Hmmm.

5. Laundry room. Kind of non-necessary, but damn if Pinterest hasn't inspired me to create the laundry room of my dreams. Or at least one without pale green peeling paint, a utility sink trapped behind the washer and dryer, and an exterior window left in place when the addition was added. Easy DIY.

6. The gym. Just needs some paint and a rubber floor. I'd love to have new windows put in too, but it's not necessary. This one will be done by February.

7. The sunroom. Figure out something to do with this space. No pressure.

8. General paint, lighting, and window treatments. The things that make our rooms pretty. These rooms need a lot of prettying. So this could get expensive. And also fun.

So that's it! Less than one project a month. Not a problem. Right?

Stay tuned, because this could get messy...
